Sculptor of Traditional Freehand Charm
万勇先后于 2006、2016 年取得天津美术学院雕塑本、硕士学位，现为中国雕塑学会、中国工艺美术学会会员。多年深耕传统写意雕塑，作品多次入选全国美展、中韩国际雕塑展、青年雕塑大展等重要专业展览，《梦唐》《醺》《夜游昆仑》等系列屡获认可，不少方案落地城市公共雕塑项目。
Wan Yong earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Sculpture from Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts in 2006 and 2016 respectively. He is a member of the China Sculpture Society and China Arts and Crafts Society. Focusing on traditional freehand sculpture, his works have been selected for key exhibitions including the National Fine Arts Exhibition, China-South Korea International Sculpture Exhibition and National Young Sculptors Exhibition.

其创作扎根中国传统雕塑文脉，以古风人物为核心载体，代表作《醺》系列借醉马文人形象，探讨传统文化在当代的存续，借人与雕塑、观者的关系完成内心自省；造型简练写意，弱化繁复细节，线条温润含蓄，同时创作《一叶轻舟》《凝》等山水意象作品，将文人闲适、通透的精神意境凝于雕塑形体，实现古典气韵与当代雕塑语言融合。
His creations root in Chinese classical sculptural traditions, centering on ancient literati figures. The representative Drunken Series features drunken scholars on horses, reflecting the survival of traditional culture in contemporary context and conveying inner self-reflection through the dialogue between artwork, creator and audience. His forms are concise and freehand with mild, restrained lines. Works such as Light Boat on a Leaf and Concentration embody the tranquil spiritual realm of ancient literati, merging classical artistic charm with modern sculptural vocabulary.
