Creator of Pure Geometric Space
王成普 1987 年生于山东聊城，2017 年毕业于中央美院雕塑系，2015 年参与创立 “桌面研究” 艺术小组，现定居北京，为独立艺术家，常年于国内外美术馆、艺术中心举办个展与群展。
Born in Liaocheng, Shandong in 1987, Wang Chengpu graduated from the Sculpture Department of Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2017. He co-founded the "Desktop Research" art group in 2015 and now works as an independent artist based in Beijing, holding numerous solo and group exhibitions at art museums and galleries at home and abroad.

创作上他秉持中立无叙事视角，剥离主观情绪，以点、线、面、体积等基础几何元素推演空间秩序；材质涵盖不锈钢、大理石、青铜、树脂、铁艺等，打造室内雕塑与大型公共装置。代表作《被打开的空间》《空间分割》《√2 于空间》系列以流畅镂空曲面、线性框架解构空间，通过切割、拉伸、镜像等创作法则，探讨空间内在逻辑；作品兼具理性极简形态与丰富肌理色彩，持续以纯粹形式语言追问雕塑与空间的本质关系。

He adopts a neutral creative stance free of personal emotion and grand narratives, exploring the intrinsic order of space by deducing forms from basic geometric units: points, lines, planes and volumes. His material palette includes stainless steel, marble, bronze, resin and iron, covering small indoor sculptures and large-scale public installations.

His representative series Opened Space, Space Division and √2 in Space deconstruct space with hollow curved surfaces and linear frames. Using creation rules such as cutting, stretching and mirroring, his works feature minimalist rational shapes paired with rich textures and hues, constantly exploring the essential connection between sculpture and space through pure formal language.
